All This And Heaven, Too
Okay, this is it. I'm officially out of the closet... as a theater nerd.
Patricia's in a play here in LA called "All This and Heaven, Too," and it's terrific!
With book and lyrics by Bill Dyer, music and arrangements by Dick DeBenedictis, and direction and choreography by Kevin Carlisle (yes, the same Kevin Carlisle who kept the Dean Martin Comedy Hour moving), the show is a blast.
Patricia plays trangendered "Jo" on November 23 and 24 at 8, and the uber-uptight "Myrna" December 14th and 15th at 8 and on the 16th at 2pm.
The incredibly funny (and at times poignant) show centers on a group of older gay men coming together for a night to remember an old friend.
The play's at the MACHA Theatre in WeHo, 1107 N. King's Road (behind Hugo's). Tickets are available at www.plays411.com/heaventoo. Check Goldstar as well if you're as cheap as most of my friends --- though if the opening night house was any indication, the thing'll be tough to get into.
Bill, Dick and Kevin have done an incredible job with the show, and whether you catch Patricia's understudy dates or the regular run (with Kelly Mantle as Jo and Katharine Devlin as Myrna), I'm telling you, it's one of the best shows I've seen in a long time.
