Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig
Spent the week in Florida visiting family, revving up the hunt for my next gig, and guest speaking at Full Sail on Wednesday.
Here's a snap of me with some of the future titans of media I had the pleasure of addressing on the subject of writing for reality television, traditional scripted television, and film:
Full Sail's changed a lot since I graduated ten years ago. They've added multiple soundstages, annexed a neighboring shopping plaza to house their expanded campus and even erected an honest-to-god backlot. Here's me checking out the latter with my old set design instructor and current Program Director for Film, Dave Franko, and Director of Career Development Jay Noble:
Thanks to the students who made my visit so memorable. I wish you all the best.

A few students have asked me again for websites I suggested they check out about writing for film, since I'm a tv guy for the most part. Those sites are Craig Mazin's artfulwriter.com, Terry Rossio and Ted Ellliot's wordplayer.com, the WGA's wga.org, and John August's johnaugust.com.
Learn from these guys.

Also, Lorelai Armstrong has a site at lorelaiarmstrong.com that offers some fine, if sobering, advice on screenwriting.
Some trivia: Lorelai is one of the first people I ever personally witnessed write a complete feature draft in under 24 hours.

I met you during your Full Sail visit - in the Ken, Garry meeting in the afternoon. I caught an episode of "Flipping Out" last night on Bravo. It was brilliant. Great show! Absolutely hilarious. Best line: "Technically, you are trespassing!". Great work!
